With the senior class of AFHS leaving in June, it seems appropriate to acknowledge some of the places they will be going. While many choose other paths, moving on to college still shows up as the preferred choice among the highly motivated students that make up the class of 2022. Thus, in honor of the fearless Patriots going on to bigger and better things, we feel fortunate at the Patriot Press to present Top Colleges in every useful category.
Top College For Academic Achievement: Harvard
Via US News. The most appropriate word here seems to be “duh,” even if no Crimson alum would ever be caught using such rudimentary parlance.
Top College For Excellence in Sporting Events: Florida
Just edging out UCLA and Michigan in the NCSA rankings, Florida has good programs for almost every sport.
Top College For Student Athletes: Stanford
From Affordable Schools. Stanford is close to an Ivy as you can get while still having a Pac-12 sports program.
Top College Library: UChicago
According to the education website College Raptor the UChicago library has a five story underground bunker filled with books, enclosed in a striking glass dome. Need I say more? Yes. Books are fetched by robot librarians.
Top Scenic Campus: University of Hawai’i
Top College For Campus Life: Southern California
With an A+ overall grade from Niche, an algorithm that matches students with their best colleges, USC, situated in Los Angeles, has a universally well-regarded student experience and a thriving environment around campus.
Top College For Student Clubs: Davidson
According to US News and World Report's Short List, with 200 clubs and student organizations, paired to a student body of just 1800, give or take, opportunities abound to get involved in any activity you could want. Not to mention, it’s a short trip, located in southern NC.
Top Party College: Tulane
Tulane is the consummate party college. Located in New Orleans, Tulane happens to be in the middle of the busiest section of one of the most party-friendly cities on Earth. Mardi Gras at your own risk.
