AFHS Thanksgiving Favorites

As Thanksgiving Break approaches and marks the beginning of the highly anticipated holiday season, many students have begun to get excited about their upcoming festivities. Food, memories, and traditions will all play an important part in many student’s break plans. What do students have to say about the upcoming holiday?

Elizabeth Edwards (11)

“We play games after dinner with my entire family. It ends up getting pretty loud....We play games like Name Game and games like that. There’s almost always a fight of some sort, but it’s usually fun.”

Parker Winters (12)

“My favorite tradition is spending time with family and talking to each other at the dinner table. I also like going to my grandmother’s house and meeting all my cousins and just having fun together and hanging out.”

Danielle Focazio (11)

“My favorite thanksgiving tradition is to go up to Virginia and visit my family because I don’t see them very often, only a couple times a year...And it’s really nice to go see my family because they are cool.”

A staple in the Thanksgiving festivities, holiday food holds a special place in many student’s hearts. At AFHS, mashed potatoes seem to be a crowd favorite, with pie coming in a close second.
