Halloween in 2020 will be looking a lot different this year. One tradition people can still count on can be the scary movies that have everyone screaming and shivering in their seats.

Number one on the list, the movie Us. Us came out in 2019, produced by Jordan Peele and Jason Blum. Us received 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and has been a fan favorite. The movie revolves around Adelaide Wilson (Lupita Nyong’o), a young woman who returns to her childhood beachfront home with her husband, Gabe (Winston Duke), and two kids Jason and Zora (Evan Alex and Shahadi Wright Joseph). Traumatized by an experience from her childhood, Adelaide can’t shake off a foreboding feeling. She happened to be right; the family's doppelgängers appear at their house, ready for revenge. Us streams on HBO MAX with a subscription, and requires a premium subscription on Amazon Prime and Hulu.

Next on the list, the movie It. As many people know, It stars a clown that goes by the name of Pennywise. The horror film came out in 2017, which happened to be based on the book written by a famous author, Stephen King. The movie follows seven outcasts who cross paths with a killer clown. According to NME, It broke the record for the highest opening weekend for an R-rated movie earning 117 million dollars.” Watching the film requires a premium subscription to Hulu, and Sling TV, but can be rented for $3.99 on YouTube and Vudu.

The third film on the list, Get Out, classified as a horror and thriller, has the same director that made Us. Get Out follows Allison Williams and Daniel Kaluuya who play couple Chris and Rose. Chris goes with Rose to meet her family, but appearances can be deceiving. Chris finds himself in an unusual situation when he learns what the family really wants. Watch on YouTube, Vudu, and Amazon Prime for $3.99 to find out.

Let’s talk about Halloween. Halloween came out in 1978 as the first in the franchise of 13 movies. Jamie Lee Curtis plays a young girl named Laurie, the victim in the movies. Both Curtis and Laurie age over time throughout the franchise which continues in Halloween 2. It all starts when a young man named Michael kills his sister Judith, which results in him getting committed to a mental facility. But when Michael gets out, he comes back to kill even more innocent people, not expecting someone like Laurie to fight back. Halloween can be watched with a premium subscription on Amazon, Sling TV, and FuboTV.

And last but not least, we have Jigsaw. Jigsaw has a lot of gore and blood, so beware; the graphics appear pretty realistic. Jigsaw reboots the Saw franchise, with a new killer who wants revenge on people who have committed terrible acts but have not been punished for the crime. Five random strangers trapped in a warehouse have to learn how to survive. Who will live? Who will die? They decide. Some secrets stay buried, but if they want to get out alive, secrets must be shared. Jigsaw can be watched on Hulu and Sling TV with a premium subscription, and can be rented for $1.99 on Vudu and Amazon Prime.

If people need a good scare or want to see a little blood, the movies above prove to be a good choice. Watch at your own risk.
