Poll Results: Halloween Favorites

Most students know that with October comes Halloween. Many will have a common memory: parents taking the candy bucket at the end of the night to “check for razor blades and needles” while the children sleep. Then, when they wake up in the morning, half the candy has disappeared. To get more input on other Halloween memories, the Patriot Press interviewed a group of AFHS students.

Elisha Puckett (10) shared her fondest memory, saying, “a fun memory from Halloween was dressing up and showing off my costume at school.” Next, Colby Roach (11) said, “I think my favorite memory is when we would get the full-size candy”. Last but not least, Evan Addison (10) said, “my favorite memory was going to the Halloween stores to pick out my costume.”

A poll on Instagram asked AFHS students to post their “favorite Halloween candy”. Most students chose Twix, with the least favorite candy being Reese’s Pumpkins. When asked about favorite Halloween events and activities, almost every kid answered that they liked ringing doorbells and collecting candy. Others, on the other hand, said they enjoyed watching scary movies and going out with friends. Trick or treating is fun, but watch out for the razor blades! This Halloween will definitely feel different with the prevalence of COVID-19; thankfully, most people already wear masks on Halloween.
